Why I Choose Squarespace over everything else?
I have used many different website platforms, including WordPress, old CMS (Content Management Systems), and coding my own websites with pure HTML, CSS and Javascript, then uploading them to a web server using an FTP Client (the old school way!).
When I came across Squarespace, I was like, wow! This tool is so simple and intuitive compared to any other system I have used in the past. You can design a beautiful, simple and eye-catching website with ease and in no time at all with the handful of templates, you can choose from.
Ease of Use
What do I mean by the ease of use? Well, the Squarespace backend is simple to use! Creating pages, sections on a page, adding web parts on the page, changing settings, and the list goes on! It is so easy to do, and with Squarespace 7.1, it has gotten even easier.
I have taught some clients who are not very tech-savvy on maintaining their website, and they picked it up quickly. I was surprised, and they absolutely love being creative and making changes to their small business website.
Squarespace offers professional, elegant, and simple websites for all types of businesses for any small business or even medium-large business. Designing websites on Squarespace is amazing! With the ability to choose from a handful of templates and customise them to fit the business branding and needs, it can be done easily.
Responsive Design
Squarespace allows you to design a responsive website for any device viewing it, which allows your clients to view your small business website on their laptop, tablet, or mobile phone with no issues.
Designing the website and using the handy responsive device emulator to see how the website renders on a mobile device is a great feature! It enables the designer to ensure the client’s website is always mobile compatible.
Security
Providing a free SSL (Secure) certificate with every website is one of the great security features Squarespace provides its clients.
The platform is controlled and continuously improved to ensure functionality and security is at it’s best. Compared to WordPress, an open-source platform with millions of plugins that are not always up to date, it will always be a less secure environment for your small business website than Squarespace.
Support
Squarespace support is amazing! The forums are great, with so many contributors to help every user, no matter their skill level or how silly their question is. This also goes for the Squarespace support team, who are contactable via their online chat, phone or email, and they are so prompt and helpful. It’s amazing!
There are so many Squarespace Guru’s out there who have a heap of hints and tips to share with the Squarespace community.
E-Commerce
The commerce side of Squarespace is really great! You can sell online services, digital products and physical products from Squarespace. You can manage all your inventory and orders easily through its mobile app as well. And if I must add, it is so much simpler than WooCommerce (WordPress E-Commerce).
Being able to connect to multiple different payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal and Square. Also, now it can connect to AfterPay to make it easier for your customers to buy now and pay later.
You can customise all the customer notifications and add the customer to your mailing lists with ease so you can do email marketing to help build your business and brand even more with your past clients.
All in one Marketing
Squarespace offers an immense amount of marketing features within its all in one application. You can do email marketing by designing amazing emails with their range of templates and email your subscribers with a click of a button. You can share posts to your social media, integrate with your social media pages, present your latest posts on your website, and more!
Conclusion
All in all, every website platform offers website designers an immense amount of value. You need to know which is best suited for your client’s needs.
For me, I have been pretty fortunate to design the majority of my client’s websites on Squarespace, and I look forward to using it every time, and I hope you do too!
