We rebuilt the site with a clear focus on the 10-cent container refund message and making it effortless for locals to drop off their bottles and cans — and built a custom app so customers could skip the queue entirely.
- Hero video: A custom brand video front-and-centre so visitors instantly understand what Adelaide Recycling does and where to go.
- 10c refund messaging: The core offer — a 10-cent refund per eligible container — is repeated clearly across the page so there's no confusion about what's accepted.
- Express Drop-Off service: A dedicated section promoting the new Express Drop-Off, with a direct link through to the customer app at app.adelaiderecycling.com.au to register and book a drop-off.
- Clear CTAs & directions: Prominent 'Visit us today' buttons linking straight to Google Maps directions to the Findon depot.
- Helpful FAQ: An inline FAQ answering the most common questions — what can and can't be recycled, and whether wine and spirit bottles are accepted — to cut down phone enquiries.
- Mobile-first: A clean, responsive layout that works smoothly on phones, where most customers look up drop-off details on the go.
A custom booking app
A key requirement was a customer app that lets people book a drop-off in advance, so they don't have to stand around waiting for their containers to be counted before getting paid. Customers can either book ahead through the app or simply rock up on site, leave their bags, and have the containers counted — with their refund deposited straight into their bank account.
- Customer booking: Customers register, choose a drop-off date, and leave their bags — no waiting around while containers are counted.
- Rock-up or book: Walk-ins are still welcome; the app just makes the whole process faster and more convenient.
- Staff processing backend: Staff enter the container count against the booking, and the refund money is then transferred to the customer's account.
- Business insights: The backend gives the business live stats and reporting on all the processing they do — volumes, payouts and customer activity.
